Unitrin, Inc. (NYSE:UTR) announced today that its Board of Directors has
declared a quarterly dividend of $0.24 per share, an increase of $0.02
per share over the prior quarter. The dividend is payable on February
28, 2011 to its shareholders of record as of February 11, 2011.
In addition, Unitrin announced that its Board of Directors has
authorized the Company to repurchase up to $300 million worth of its
common stock.
Repurchases may be made from time to time at prevailing prices in the
open market or in privately-negotiated transactions, subject to market
conditions and other factors. Repurchases will be financed through
Unitrin’s general corporate funds. Depending upon the amount of
repurchases and other factors, Unitrin may also borrow funds under its
existing revolving credit facility.
