Kemper
Corporation (NYSE: KMPR) announced today that it has filed a Form
8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), providing a 2011
financial supplement that is retrospectively adjusted for the company’s
adoption of Accounting Standards Update 2010-26, Accounting for Costs
Associated with Acquiring or Renewing Insurance Contracts. In
addition, these financials include a change in how the company allocates
capital and net investment income to its business segments. The
retrospectively adjusted 2011 financial supplement is also available in
the investors section of kemper.com.
As announced previously, Kemper has scheduled an earnings conference
call for Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern (10:00 a.m.
Central) to review its first quarter 2012 financial results. Kemper will
file its quarterly report on Form 10-Q with the SEC and issue its
earnings release and financial supplement containing first quarter
